Is becoming a Computer Network Specialist A good Career?
Q. Are computer network specialist in demand? Will the pay be good? Is it a good career to get into?

A. The term Computer Network Specialist can mean several things. It can mean you work with Cisco products configuring routers and switches and designing and maintaining the network infrastructure. This is a fairly specialized area and requires specific training - Cisco training and certifications are expected.

On a more general level it can mean you just set up a computer network so that users can print and share files over the network. This may require training in specific operating systems and certifications by Microsoft and COMPTIA (like A+ and Network+).

Beginning salaries in IT are going to range from high $30,000 on up - I have given you a link to a salary survey that will show salaries in a number of companies.

As far as what you need to get a job: The Holy Grail for IT employment is a 4 year degree, some industry certs and experience. If you have all three of those you should be good. If you have only one or two elements you may be competing with other people who have two elements or perhaps all three.

How could a computer network be improved to meet new and emrging technologies?
Q. With the new technology being increasing introduced into the field of IT, my question is: How could a computer network be improved to meet new and emerging technologies?

A. Wireless N

Blade storage servers with several terabytes(If you have a small business, not necessary)

1000MPBS Lan Speed (would require semi- high end computers, though)

All the same OS (Vista, XP, etc. Vista and XP together don't communicate very well when it comes to networking)
